Colorado Girls Swimming and Diving Rankings Posted Here (1-25-2016)

Fairview was able to strengthen it's position on top of the rankings with a few more improvements at the Boulder County Invitational, while Valor Christian was restored to the top of the rankings with it's showing at the Jeffco Invitational, in spite of landing in 2nd place to Evergreen.  Evergreen made a strong statement to jump over Manitou Springs and into 3rd place among 4A.  In 5A, Heritage made a major leap from 8th to 4th and Chaparral went from 12th to 8th.

This is nearing the start of the league championship meet weekend with some leagues doing lower level league meets next weekend. Jeffco schools will still have some dual meets this week while other leagues will hold B/C/JV meets leading up to League championship meets the weekend of February 5-6.  Knowing this, there shouldn't be much movement in the rankings next week, but the following week should offer more insight into what may happen at the State Meet.

While Fairview remains strong atop the 5A rankings, with Regis and Fossil Ridge making up a little ground, 4A has become a dogfight between Valor and Cheyenne Mountain.  Cheyenne Mountain had a very strong meet at the Hornet Invitational this weekend.  So much so that they have now taken over the top spot in the poll by 2 points with Manitou Springs 100 points behind Valor in a solid 3rd place.  Valor will be at the Jeffco Invitational along with many other teams, so they may muster a reply, while Fairview will be headlining the Boulder County Invitational at VMAC.

This is nearing the start of the league championship meet weekend with some leagues doing lower level league meets next weekend.

Valor and Fairview remain on top of the rankings.  5A State meet looks to be much more diverse this year compared to three teams booking most of the total points.  This will make it much more challenging for teams to climb up into the top 10 without strong representation of both individual events and relays.

4A schools that can land a relay or two in the top 8 at State will see big jumps since the top 5 schools look to take up a big chunk of the points this year.

Colorado Girls Swimming and Diving Rankings Posted Here (12-31-2015)

Valor and Fairview start the new year and new season at the top of the rankings with others in pursuit.  Fairview starts with over a 100 point jump on Regis, while Valor has a much more narrow 30 point lead over Cheyenne Mountain.

At this point the question has to be asked about impact of the Olympic Trials this summer, and kids that have opted not to swim high school this year to focus in on that effort....  Is it crippling teams that could be stronger?? Those that have their full teams seem to have a definite advantage so far.

Big meets in January outside of the League/State meets:

Jan 15/16 - Arapahoe, (Pueblo County) Hornet & Smoky Hill Invitationals
Jan 22/23 - Jeffco & Boulder County Invitationals
