Colorado Boys Swimming and Diving Psych Sheet Rankings
(5-17-2016)

The lists below are the final team rankings of the season that have been derived from the entries to the state meet - a.k.a. the psych sheets.  While there are often minor corrections between now and the start of the meet, these generally hold true.  

 Realize that just as the other rankings have been, these rankings represent a calculated *guess* on how the meet will play out but of course, you still have to swim the meet!!  At some point, we may go back and review just how accurate the rankings are both from the psych sheets and the last rankings before the psych sheet rankings.  At a glance, they've held up very well, but can also be unraveled by teams or even individuals that over or under perform.  There have been several examples of this over the past several years.

State meets are going to be interesting... 4A won't likely have much surprise to who will win, based upon the current projections of Cheyenne Mountain having a 130+ point lead over the next highest team, Valor Christian, In reality, the lineups going into the meet and prelim performances at the meet will play a critical role in 4A from 2nd to 6th since those teams are all within 30 points.  If a team comes out flat on Friday, a great Saturday won't be enough to make up the difference.  

 In 5A, the same could be said for 1st through 5th...  Fossil Ridge still has a solid 79 point projected advantage on Boulder, who came strong to the rankings after what looks to be a great league meet.  2nd through 5th are all less that 30 points apart as well.  Don't count out Regis as a team that could jump into the mix, as history has shown that their laser-focus on the state meet and little else, usually pays big dividends when all is said and done.  They are currently projected at 8th but look to be shy in the top 3 relays with only 1 of their 3 relays in that tier.

Most teams held their JV/B League meets this week, though a handful of dual meets brought out a few additions to the Top 20, and Boulder definitely capitalized on their meet by jumping from 8th to 3rd in the rankings this week.
